About Life in the Margins

This blog features scraps of writing by David Barker. If he were a photographer, this site might be his morguefile. If he were a painter, this site might be his toilet paper.

David lives in Toronto. Toronto is in Canada. For those who know nothing about Canada, living in Toronto means David wears sandals, shorts and a T-shirt for at least 4 months of every year. He doesn’t ski. He doesn’t snowshoe or go snowmobiling. He’s never ice fished in his life. He’s never seen a polar bear except in a zoo. He can’t stand Hockey Night in Canada. And he’s gluten intolerant so he doesn’t drink beer.

However, David does like to write about himself in the third person.

He has three degrees one of which is an English degree which means he can spell when he really tries. The other two degrees are completely arcane and have nothing to do with anything, although you can find him blogging about one of them here.

David is more than half way through (writing) a novel which is tentatively titled Clouds On Wall. The bits that get hacked away from it may get posted on this site from time to time.
